Over 100,000 ChatGPT login credentials have been leaked and traded on the dark web in the past year, according to cybersecurity firm Group-IB. This includes a peak of nearly 27,000 credentials made available in May alone.
Which regions are most affected by the leaks?
The Asia-Pacific region has experienced the highest concentration of compromised ChatGPT credentials, accounting for about 40% of the total. India had the most compromised logins with over 12,500, while the United States had nearly 3,000.
How can users protect their accounts?
Users are advised to regularly update their software and enable two-factor authentication to enhance security. It's also important to note that the compromised logins are not due to weaknesses in ChatGPT's infrastructure.
